Ricardo Ramos was born in 1985 (Porto/Portugal). He began his musical studies at the Professional Music School – Artave in 1997, later at the Porto Music Academy (2003-2007), with Prof. Hugues Kesteman. Since 2007 he studies at the Lübeck Music Academy (Germany) with Prof.Pierre Martens.
He participated in master classes with teachers as Pascal Gallois, Hugues Kesteman, Henning Trog, Günter Pfitzermaier Gustav Nuñes, Giorgio Mandolesi and Klaus Thunemann.
He was honored prizes of the Solti Foundation (2010), Young Musicians Award Portugal (2003 and 2008), Helena Sá e Costa (2005), Possehl Prize (Germany, 2008) and Rotary Club Porto (2007).
Ricardo was a member of several youth orchestras and professional orchestras as Gustav Mahler-Jungendorchester, European Union Youth Orchestra, Bamberger Symphoniker (Gemany), Orchester der Hansestadt Lübeck Philharmonisches (Germany), Porto National Orchestra (Portugal), REMIX Ensemble (Portugal). As member of this orchestras he permormed with conductors like Sir Colin Davis, Hebert Blomsted, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Lawrence Foster, Kirill Petrenko, Michel Corboz, Michael Boder, Ton Koopman, Bertrand de Billy, David Afkham,Susanna Mälkki and Ainars Rubikis.
As a soloist he performed several times with the Sinfonieta Orchestra (Porto), Philharmonisches Orchester Kiel, Klingberg Symphoniker, Norddeutsche Sinfonietta and Gulbenkian Orchestra.
His first CD, playing the Weber bassoon concerto with Gulbenkian Orchestra conducted by Lawrence Foster, was released in 2013.
